PF Custom Countertops (PFCC) has been crafting beautiful, high-quality surfaces since 1969, when founder Otto Holzapfel first brought his passion for craftsmanship to Edmonton, Alberta. After immigrating to Canada and learning about an exciting new product—post-form laminate countertops, Otto launched a small operation out of his garage that would grow into one of Alberta’s most trusted countertop manufacturers.
Under the leadership of Otto’s sons, John and Ed Holzapfel, PFCC flourished for more than three decades, serving dealers and homeowners throughout northern Alberta and British Columbia. John, who studied business administration, guided the company’s operations and customer relationships, while Ed applied his journeyman cabinet-making expertise to oversee production. Together, they built a second-generation business rooted in craftsmanship, service, and integrity.
Over the years, PFCC expanded from laminate to include solid surface, natural stone, and quartz countertops, operating from two state-of-the-art facilities in Edmonton with more than 85 skilled employees. As the last post-form laminate manufacturer in Alberta, PFCC has long been recognized for its ability to balance innovation with tradition, producing beautiful, durable countertops that fit every lifestyle and budget.
In recent years, PF Custom Countertops joined the FLOFORM family, becoming part of one of North America’s leading countertop companies. Founded in 1961 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, FLOFORM has been a pioneer in post-form laminate and has grown to operate 16 locations across western Canada and the northwest United States. The partnership brings expanded product offerings, advanced technology, and enhanced service capabilities to PFCC’s long-standing customers, while keeping local manufacturing and personalized service at the heart of what we do.
Now, under new leadership following John Holzapfel’s recent retirement, PFCC continues to uphold the Holzapfel family’s legacy as part of the FLOFORM tradition: delivering countertops for life. Together, we remain dedicated to expert guidance, quality craftsmanship, and helping homeowners create kitchens they love.
